Brittany and Ben’s sweet love story as told by Brittany:
Nearly ten years ago Brian and I started dating. We had mutual friends in common and we connected through Myspace. We gradually moved from Myspace to AOL instant messenger. We were both 18 years old and still living at home at the time and we communicated solely through IM for about 2 months or so (even though we only lived about 15 minutes away from each other). One night we were talking about our weekend plans and discovered randomly that we would both be going to the same concert in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We decided to finally meet up. I called him when I got to the show and he was already there. He told me to meet him inside and like something out of a movie we walked right past each other while on the phone, made quick eye contact and turned around to say at the same time “Brittany?” “Ben?” … And that was how we met! We started talking more frequently after that and began spending time together. We were young and we took things slow. A few months later we started dating and we dated for three years before tying the knot! We just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary on September 20th 2015. I feel that my marriage with Ben is the greatest gift I have ever received. I know there are a million cliche lines I could insert here that have been said over and over again, but I really am so thankful to have found my true match. There are almost no words to describe the feeling that, no matter what happens in our lives, we will always have each other. The peace and comfort that is found in that simple fact is indescribable. “In sickness and in health, in good times and bad, until death do us part.” The vows we made on our wedding day still ring so true. These past seven years are proof of our overwhelming love and commitment to each other. I know in the coming years we will embark on new journeys, make new memories and there may be times that we are faced with difficult obstacles. I believe that when we are faced with those obstacles, it’s how we overcome them that defines our love.
